'Bluetooth Mouse Remote' feature - Before You Begin

  • This feature requires an additional AtomS3-Lite (SKU:C124) running TslaMouse firmware version 0.3.3 or later. Be sure to download this firmware only from this app’s official website: https://teslamirror.com. Do not use firmware from other sources. After it is powered on, the device appears on the iPhone as a Bluetooth mouse named “TslaMouse.” To add it, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch, turn on AssistiveTouch, and then open Devices > Bluetooth Devices. Tap TslaMouse in the device list and wait until it shows as connected. The device only needs power and Bluetooth; it does not need Wi-Fi.
  • On iPhone, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and make sure AssistiveTouch is turned on. Keep AssistiveTouch on whenever you use Bluetooth Mouse Remote.
  • For the initial connection and first use, hold the iPhone in a normal portrait or landscape position. Do not leave it lying flat and completely still, so that the screen direction can be detected correctly. Once Bluetooth Mouse Remote is working normally, you can place the iPhone however you prefer.
  • Match the System Orientation Lock setting to Portrait Orientation Lock in iPhone Control Center.

9.66 Version:

  • All 3 modes(H.264, H.265 and MJPEG) only support https://TslaMirror.com URL. HTTP is not supported. IP is not supported. This is because that Lossless audio support must use HTTPS.
  • MJPEG mode supports Lossless audio feature

9.65 Version:

Added manual video decoder selection:

  • On the Tesla browser streaming page, use the controls in the upper-right corner to switch between Software decoding and Hardware decoding. If the controls are hidden, touch the screen or move the mouse to show them again.
  • Manual decoder selection is available on both H.264 and H.265 pages, and your last selection is remembered automatically.
  • The same decoder preference is shared between H.264 and H.265 modes.
  • Hardware decoding is generally recommended for smoother playback and better efficiency. If the browser does not support it or the video does not display correctly, try Software decoding.
  • Switching decoders reconnects only the video stream without interrupting audio playback.
  • Improved software decoder startup, video presentation, and automatic recovery to reduce occasional black screens.
  • If Software decoding is not smooth, try lowering the resolution and frame rate in the TslaMirror app settings.

9.64 Version:

  • For Tesla in-car system software version 2025.38.11 and later, H.265 mirroring is now recommended for both MCU2 and MCU3.

9.59 Version:

Added 5 new screen-position controls for easier browser display adjustment.

After expanding the web buttons, a new directional control group appears in the bottom-right corner:

Left arrow: moves the mirrored screen toward the left, or keeps more of the phone’s left side in cropped full-screen mode. Right arrow: moves the mirrored screen toward the right, or keeps more of the phone’s right side in cropped full-screen mode. Up arrow: moves the mirrored screen toward the top, or keeps more of the phone’s top area in cropped full-screen mode. Down arrow: moves the mirrored screen toward the bottom, or keeps more of the phone’s bottom area in cropped full-screen mode. Center reset button: restores the screen to the default centered layout for the current mode.

These controls work in both normal fit mode and cropped full-screen mode. In normal fit mode, the screen keeps its black borders while changing position. In cropped full-screen mode, the screen continues to fill the browser while prioritizing which side of the phone screen remains visible.

9.54 Version:

  • Performance improvements.
  • For Tesla in-car system software version 2025.38.11 and later, H.265 mirroring is now recommended for both MCU2 and MCU3.

9.01 Version:

  • Improved video quality with the newly added H.265 mirroring mode. H.265 delivers the best video quality.
  • On the browser side, H.265 video playback is supported only on MCU3 or newer hardware.
  • Tap the settings button in the top-left corner → "Mirroring mode" to select the desired mode.
  • H.264 is the default option. If your browser runs on MCU3 or higher-performance hardware, we recommend choosing H.265 mode.
  • On MCU3 browsers, H.265 playback performance at 1080p@60fps is comparable to H.264.
  • The resolution and frame rate parameters of the H.265/H.264 mode are related to the performance of Tesla vehicles. It is recommended to use lower parameters for older Tesla models and to gradually increase these parameters for newer Tesla models to suit your actual situation.

8.05 Version:

7.06 Version:

Improved support for H.264 video mode. If you experience difficulty with video playback under H.264 mode, we kindly recommend reducing the video resolution or frame rate to enhance performance. You can easily adjust these settings by tapping the settings icon located at the top-left corner of the app.

Recommended video settings based on different Tesla hardware configurations:

  • MCU3 (AMD Ryzen): 720p@60fps is recommended.
  • MCU2 (Intel Atom E8000 series): 540p@30fps is recommended.
  • MCU1 (Nvidia Tegra 3): Due to hardware limitations, this app is not recommended for use on MCU1 devices. We appreciate your understanding.

7.00 Version:

After careful investigation, it appears that the recent Tesla 2025.8.4 software update may have inadvertently impacted support for H.264 video streaming.

  • The updated H.264 video mode now includes compatibility with Tesla's 2025.8.4 software.
  • Due to certain limitations introduced in the Tesla 2025.8.4 software, video playback performance in the new H.264 mode might be somewhat reduced compared to previous versions.
  • To achieve optimal streaming performance, please consider lowering your settings for "Resolution" and "Frames per second". You can adjust these settings by tapping the Settings icon located in the upper-left corner of the app interface.
  • To ensure that the Tesla browser is using the latest version of a webpage, you can clear your vehicle's browser data (like you would on a computer or smartphone) by navigating to Controls > Service > Clear Browser Data.

6.00 Version:

  • Starting from version 6.00, the audio transmission method has been completely updated and is no longer compatible with the previous version 4.00 (Tesla software version 2024.45.32.1 and later also no longer support the old method).
  • The new audio transmission method is on the same level as Bluetooth audio and supports lossless audio.
  • Lossless audio specifications: 44.1 kHz, Stereo, 16-bit (CD quality), typically significantly better than Bluetooth or low-bitrate streaming audio.
  • The above audio specifications represent the highest recording quality supported internally by the iPhone. It is recommended to use music apps with lossless or higher quality audio settings to achieve the best results.
  • Lossless audio transmission is only available in H.264 mode, which has a default-enabled option "Lossless Audio" controlling audio transmission to the browser.
  • Audio data transmission depends on DRM restrictions set by third-party apps. If third-party apps allow screen recording and the audio is DRM-free, it can be transmitted normally.
  • To play audio in the browser, manual interaction is required initially (click the audio button in the upper-left corner). The button hides automatically after 30 seconds but reappears when the screen is touched again.
  • During prolonged audio playback, latency may gradually increase. Restart audio playback by clicking the audio button in the upper-left corner to minimize latency again.
  • For optimal transmission performance, using a 5G or 4G cellular signal along with a 5GHz iPhone Wi-Fi hotspot is recommended (note that the cellular signal and Wi-Fi frequency are distinct parameters).

5.00 Version:

4.00 Version:

  1. Add support for Lossless Audio, which can be played through the browser. Lossless audio is only available in H.264 mode.
  1. In H.264 mode, a new option "Lossless Audio" has been added, which is enabled by default. This option controls whether audio data is sent to the browser.
  1. Lossless audio cannot transmit all iPhone audio to the browser. If the audio data is protected by DRM, whether the audio data can be transmitted to the browser depends on the settings of the third-party app. If the audio data is not protected by DRM, it can be recorded and transmitted to the browser. The restrictions on whether audio data can be recorded are similar to those for screen recording, depending on whether the third-party app allows the app's screen audio to be recorded.
  1. The parameters for lossless audio are: 44.1 kHz, stereo, 16-bit. This provides CD-quality sound, which is generally superior to Bluetooth audio transmission.
  1. Due to browser limitations, at least one interaction is required to play audio. By clicking the audio button in the upper left corner of the browser once, audio playback can start. The audio button in the upper left corner will disappear automatically after thirty seconds. Touching the screen again will make the button reappear. The audio button in the upper left corner of the browser functions both as a "Start Audio" and "Restart audio" button.
  1. Due to transmitting audio data to the browser via iPhone's Wi-Fi Personal Hotspot, the initial audio delay is minimal. However, during long-term audio playback, the accumulated delay might increase. In such cases, pressing the audio button in the upper left corner of the browser to "Restart Audio" will reset the delay to its minimal state.
  1. The network conditions of the iPhone's Wi-Fi Personal Hotspot also depend on the carrier's signal. It is recommended to use a carrier with 5G or 4G signals. The 5G carrier signal is the best.
  1. Additionally, ensure that the iPhone's Wi-Fi Personal Hotspot is set to the 5GHz band. Note that the Wi-Fi band and the carrier signal band are two different parameters.

3.00 Version:

  1. Added support for the new H.264 mode. The old MJPEG mode is still retained as an option. Please use the new H.264 mode whenever possible, as the old MJPEG mode requires very good network conditions to function properly.
  1. The H.264 mode is smoother.
  1. The H.264 mode has lower latency.
  1. The H.264 mode can support poorer network conditions.
  1. The H.264 mode supports resolutions up to 1080p, with a default of 540p.
  1. The H.264 mode supports frame rates up to 60fps, with a default of 30fps.
  1. The resolution and frame rate parameters of the H.264 mode are related to the performance of Tesla vehicles. It is recommended to use lower parameters for older Tesla models and to gradually increase these parameters for newer Tesla models to suit your actual situation.
  1. The default "Image quality" parameter for the H.264 mode is "Standard". This parameter is related to the network environment of the Tesla vehicle, which can be very volatile. It is not recommended to set this parameter too high and should be adjusted based on actual testing conditions of the Tesla vehicle. Ensuring that the iOS Personal Hotspot is set to 5GHz will help improve network quality. The iOS Personal Hotspot is set to 5GHz when the "Maximize Compatibility" option in iOS settings is turned off. When the "Maximize Compatibility" option is turned on, it uses 2.4GHz. Therefore, it is best to keep the "Maximize Compatibility" setting turned off in the iOS Personal Hotspot settings. Note that sometimes you may need to adjust the "Maximize Compatibility" option to connect the Tesla vehicle to the iOS Personal Hotspot, but once connected, you can always turn off the "Maximize Compatibility" option.

1.90 Version:

The app name is changed to TslaMirror from the old TeslaMirror

1.84 Version:

Please note, TeslaMirror App needs the correct Location Services access right.

This application does use Location services to access Wi-Fi access point network name on iOS 13 or later. Location data is not stored or collected at any point. No information is stored by our company. However, if the iOS system Location Services is not "On", or the Location access for TeslaMirror App is incorrect. The TeslaMirror App will not function correctly.

1.81 Version:

Added a new setting "Tesla Proxy Auto-Start". This setting is for some special network cases. Please keep the default "On" state for it if it is not in a special network case.

As for the "Resolution", "Limit frames per second" and "Image quality" settings, please do not set them too high. The recommended way is to set them low at first, then improve them little by little to fit in the hardware, software, and cellular network signal strength.

1.8 Version:

Web hint information added when the 240.3.3.3 web server is running, but the App mirroring not started yet.

There is a web server running on the iOS device with a virtual IP 240.3.3.3. This web server is not available for public Internet access.

5GHz Personal Hotspot(iPhone 12 series supports it) Wi-Fi is highly recommended. Do not enable the "Maximize Compatibility" setting for iPhone 12 series. By default, iPhone 12 series comes with a 5GHz Wi-Fi Personal Hotspot. Once the "Maximize Compatibility" setting enabled, it will go back to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi hotspot.

1.6 Version:

The full-screen (for Model 3/Y, park mode) button number is changed from 2 to 1. For Chinese Tesla owners, please set the iOS mobile device(iPhone/iPad) system language to "Simplified Chinese", so as to use the full-screen mode for Chinese. For all the other mobile device system language settings, it will go with another full-screen mode.

1.2 Version:

  1. Full-screen support added for Tesla Model 3/Y in-car browser.Park mode needed. This full-screen feature only works under park mode.
  1. Image resolution setting added. The default Resolution setting is 360p. This 360p is for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi hotspot access. The 5GHz Wi-Fi hotspot is always recommended for better network speed. For the 5GHz Wi-Fi hotspot, the Resolution setting can be changed to 540p or 720p.
  1. FPS(frames per second) setting added. The default "frames per second" setting is 20 fps. This 20 fps is for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi hotspot access. The 5GHz Wi-Fi hotspot is always recommended for better network speed. For a 5GHz Wi-Fi hotspot, the "frames per second" setting can be changed to 45 fps or higher.
  1. Image quality setting added. The default "Image quality" setting is Standard. This Standard Image quality is for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi hotspot access. The 5GHz Wi-Fi hotspot is always recommended for better network speed. For a 5GHz Wi-Fi hotspot, the "Image quality" setting can be changed into High or "Ultra High".
  1. "Tesla Proxy IP address" setting added. Please note that the Tesla Proxy IP address is a virtual IP address. It is not a real IP address on the public internet. This virtual IP address will run on the iOS mobile device, not on the public internet. Please only set the Tesla Proxy IP address when it is needed. Keep it as default is fine for most cases.

Do not lock the screen. The Screen Broadcast API limitation needs the screen to keep unlocked. Once the screen is locked, Screen Broadcast needs to be restarted.

Netflix app not supported. iOS apps that use the AVPlayer framework cannot be supported, such as the Apple Music app and Netflix app. For the Apple Music app, although the screen can be streamed to the browser, the audio part will be muted during the Screen Broadcast.

For now, only iPhone 12 series support 5GHz Personal Hotspot Wi-Fi, it is highly recommended for a better network connection.

The iOS Wi-Fi hotspot network speed is not only related to the given hardware but also it is related to the cellular network signal strength. Please choose the suitable Settings value according to the real Wi-Fi hotspot network speed.
